Climate Change Levy

CCL is the short term for Climate Change Levy. CCL is a government enforced tax and has been in effect since April 2001. All energy suppliers are required to collect CCL from their customers. From April 2008 CCL will be charged at a rate of 0.456p/kWh.

You will see CCL as a separate item detailed on your energy bills.

Some companies are exempt from paying CCL. If this is the case you must download two certificates:

CCL Exemption Form PP10 (Supporting Analysis)
CCL Exemption Form PP11 (Supplier Certificate)

You need to download these certificates and submit these to your energy supplier if you qualify for exemption
